Hi,
It's Mikael, the current vice-CEO of Onesys/Onesys Medial.
I deleted my personal X, LinkedIn and Facebook accounts effective Monday, December 2nd. As of the time of writing, I can only be reached via email, or via private messaging applications utilizing my phone number.
As things progress I think I will double down on these means for communication, and I recommend you do as well.
Over the past two days I've written and read more than in years. Social media steals from us the one thing we can never have more of - time - while offering us something that feels good for a moment but achieves nothing - gratification.
It is personally satisfying to be followed by highly impactful people, from business executives to political leaders. At the same time, it brings out just how surface level these connections are. How little actually useful things anyone active on social media is capable of.
The internet was supposed to give us a means of communicating directly, to eliminate barriers and allow us to attain ever-increasing levels of efficiency and low friction.
I still believe this will happen. But perhaps it will require websites like this one, with executives and employees alike writing about things in public. Perhaps this will be something we do more on one another's websites as well.
You can't expect a forum to work, if no one has anything to say.
